As someone who has taken the citizenship test, I think you may be right!

This quote by Robert Ingersoll regarding Lincoln highlights just how far the GOP has fallen - try imagining the same quote ever applying to Trump:
QUOTE:
If you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except upon the side of mercy. |

The problem with Trump giving his speeches is that he likes to talk and frequently goes "off script" by ignoring his teleprompter and notes. This leads to a lot of rambling, bragging, and saying a whole lot of nothing.
What gets me is how his followers hang on his every word and eat it all up despite the fact that most of what he says is incoherent rambling b.s..

That’s probably what it sounds like in their own heads.

I too think he has dementia.
He starts sentences that just degenerate into unconnected jumble of words. The sentences reference the thing he is talking about many times, but not the what relating to the thing he is talking about.
So, Lincoln, did a lot of things, but he doesn’t go into specifics of what those things are & then just keeps coming back to Lincoln did things without being specific.
That one example in itself doesn’t point to dementia, but if you ever read any of the CNN ‘20 (or 30 or 50) crazy things Trump said @ a press conference or interview’ articles, there are times in there that the man just seems to be stuck - trying to form a thought, unable to form a thought & just stuck saying random words while his brain catches up.
I read those times & just think of my mother in law when she first got dementia. It took us a while to fully realise what was going on, but in retrospect, it was things like this that we should have picked up on.

While I would not be surprised to find out he has some form of dementia, I think that assumption is a bit too much of a get out of jail free card. Trump has a very limited skill set/area of expertise - self-promotion. Outside of that he is simply under-educated, and it shows every time he attempts to weigh in on any given topic off the cuff.

Trump is a guy who is not very bright or knowledgeable, but who has lived his whole life in a bubble within which no one ever disagreed with him. Thus, he didn't have to deal with any kind of reality. Now, he thinks the same thing applies to the office of President. (Example, his notion that the President cannot break the law.)

His brain disorder is ignorance and he seems to have a reverse stutter. Some children stutter when they don't quite have the language or speech development to keep up with the ideas they are trying to express. This can cause them to stutter and is usually outgrown. Trump seems to run his mouth aimlessly when he has nothing to say, but also never outgrew the disorder.

When an irresistible idiot such as Trump, meets an ol' immovable fundamentalist regime like Iran, you can bet, sure as you live, something's gotta give:
A man of few words (and fewer thoughts)... so who's up for another Middle Eastern war?

@Brian -
THANK YOU!
Donald J. Trump doesn’t have goddamn dementia!
He is simply a bloviating, puffed up, bigoted imbecile who is willing to PRETEND he knows what he is talking about! He’s so ridiculously egotistical he thinks everyone around him is actually dumber than he is.
But don’t be shocked if one day (after his defeat in 2020 and the indictments start rolling in) ....he will indeed SUDDENLY admit to having symptoms of ‘dementia’ or some other illness where his judgment and reasoning is helplessly impaired.
