STAR TREK’s ever-shrinking budget cut severely into the crew count. Compare a corridor shot from, say, “Where No Man has Gone Before” with an equivalent shot from the 3rd Season!

Yeah, I love those early shots (“Where No Man Has Gone Before”, “The Corbomite Maneuver”, “Balance Of Terror”, etc.) of Kirk strolling through corridors bustling with crewmen and activity.

My mind first goes to engineers tinkering on those nondescript pipe works seen in most corridors.
