This reminds me of the NASA rep who appeared before Congress to justify their funding. “Let’s add up the things space exploration has given us. Please take out your pocket calculators.”

The legislators do so.

“Okay, that’s one.”

It's amazing the serendipitous benefits we get when we're trying to advance science and our society. I'm still amazed every once in a while that those self-same calculators each have enough processing power to have done entire earlier Mercury and Gemini missions.

We cannot know the outcome of research that we don't know, obviously - but it's waiting to be found if we would only CONTINUE THE RESEARCH.

Not that our current administration gives a shit. Unless there's a military aspect... SPACE FORCE.

When it comes to advancing technology in leaps and bounds, the space program is even better than a war! (Lower body count.)

May it always be so, Mr. Byrne.

Timely reminder of the benefits of the space program, thank God for science!

The list doesn't explicitly mention possibly the greatest thing to come from the space program: Space Food Sticks. More nutritious than linoleum and almost as tasty.

Steven - Tang wasn't developed for the space program, just popularized by it.

Useless Trivia: My former home province of Alberta, in Canada, used to be a proving ground for new products. Tang was first test marketed there. (Or so we were told.)
