I came across this image, and it immediately put me in
mind of this graphic novel from the 80`s! Uncanny!

Yeah. That’s been brought up before.

Too bad they have transformed that Luthor into the character he is today. I mean, I don't dislike it, but it was much more interesting and original in JB's days.

But Luthor got to be elected President way before Trump.

Gotta give him that.

Is it uncanny? The graphic novel came out a year or two after the autobiography, so I'm reasonably sure it was intentional. (Apologies if sarcasm went undetected.)

Bob Harvey, so Trump looked like that 30 years ago? I
assumed it was more recent than that due to the cover
photo!

Google suggests that a different photo was used for earlier editions. Very similar layout to the one you posted, though.

I remember when the Lex Luthor book came out, and of course the cover design was intentionally echoing Trump's book. It was not coincidental.

In the 1980s, Lex was changed from being a mad scientist to a powerful businessman, the richest man in Metropolis.  JB can confirm this, of course, but I am fairly certain the new version of Luthor was partly based on Trump, who was already famous in the 1980s for being a rich businessman.

By the way, Google "Art of the Deal 1st print" to see the original cover.

Luthor and Trump - two ruthless crooks who became president. Life imitates art.
