TheWashingtonPost

Article might have a touch more credibility if it wasn’t illustrated with a photo that’s been totally debunked—including by one of the guys who took it!

 QUOTE:
“The remaining theory that we cannot refute based on the environmental DNA data obtained is that what people are seeing is a very large eel,”...

A constant unverifiable run of giant eels easily mistaken for monsters or dinosaurs for past 1450 years?

Of all the "creatures of legend", Nessie was the one I wanted to be real, my infatuation with Dinosaurs and all.

There's been no hope of that in my mind for about 3 and a half decades now, but it sure was fun to imagine the possibilities.

Strange how you get the odd sighting at the start of the
tourist season each year!

We, of course, know everything about that monster, everything we need to know anyway: The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes - Trailer - YouTube

The people of Scotland have long held a strong respect for water spirits and the Fae. 'Nessy' may well be something of an eyebrow-raiser for those with a sensible disposition. However, most of the over 30K Loch's in Scotland have some associated beastie. Loch Ness just has the most international interest. Loch Morar has a reported, equivalent as yet unidentified creature living in it and has done for decades.

While focusing on Loch Ness doesn't hurt the economy, these Kelpies are a cultural thing, so don't worry;).

Scotland/Wales and Ireland managed to hold on to their pagan roots a little longer than most.

Edit: "reported".
