I agree with that assessment on a lot of those. I always find abandoned amusement parks kind of eerie (maybe because when I was eight, I got lost in Euclid Beach Park here in Cleveland. I'd swear I could hear echoes of ghosts.)

But I think the freakiest is abandoned theatres. As a (community) performer, I can sympathize what's happened there, and it's both unnerving and kinda sad.

#2 looks like a painting.

Ford Motor bought Michigan Central Station, renovations have begun on bringing back it's old glory.

The military base where I spent most of my teenage years was abandoned almost 20 years ago. Thanks to Google maps I can see my former house and high school with a jungle growing through and around them. It is a weird feeling.

I find it interesting how many are in the Ukraine and a result of the fall of the USSR.

I'd love to go diving in the sunken city in China!

Timely thread. I was just googling around last weekend
for abandoned places in Nova Scotia to explore.

Love pictures and videos of abandoned places, especially amusement parks.

There are a lot of abandoned places in Japan, some of which are hotels in very out of the way places...
