Since I think a couple of my examples above might be questionable, I'll go ahead and suggest these as well, just in case I have my facts wrong.
Green Arrow, Aquaman, Sub-Mariner, Reed Richards, and Star Boy.
Van-Zee, Luma Lynai, Ben Reilly, Faker, and the Captain America of the 1950's.

Apologies to Dave Phelps. Somehow I missed him getting the right answer to my list. Six months free membership in the Forum as compensation.

Doppelgangers of other characters? (Superman, Supergirl, Spider-Man, He-Man and the Captain America of the 1940s.)

QUIZ: Batman and Robin, the Fantastic Four, Wonder Woman, the Ghost Rider, Green Arrow and Speedy, the Champions, Space Ghost, and Superman once.
QUIZ: Atom, Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, Superman; Aqualad, Kid Flash, Speedy, Wonder Girl; NOT Batman, Green Arrow, Manhunter from Mars, Snapper Carr, Wonder Woman, Robin; Aquaman was supposed to be part of the first list, but actually was in the second. (Hint: there is a reason that Batman and Robin are not listed together.
QUIZ: Batman, Boy Commandos, Flash, Green Lantern, Superboy, Superman, and Wonder Woman (and I'm not being funny here.)
I am banging my head against the keyboard on those other questions - I just can't get 'em. I must be getting old...

Correct, Steven! And Dave as well!
That first question is really much more simple and basic than whatever logic you're applying to it, I'm sure. Other characters I thought about adding to that list include White Tiger, Jimmy Olsen and Perry White, if that helps.

I must admit to being stumped on most of these as well. Including yours, Eric. (I'm having trouble imagining something that Superman only did once.)
The phrasing of one of your questions, however, inspired this one:
Superman, Batman and Robin, Wonder Woman, Flash Gordon, Archie, Plastic Man, and the Lone Ranger, but NOT the Flash, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Aquaman, or Buck Rogers.

That was my guess, too, but I had no idea who Faker was.

Golden Age characters that survived into the 50s? (Wildcat didn't quite make it, but I'm going off of the "iffy" thing. :-) )

Characters who started off in anthology series and then got their own book?

Ignoring the one Brian Miller got, I actually thought one of mine would've been a gimme for you. (And if I'm right about yours and you recall one of the implications, you'll have a leg up on the other, too.)
The old subconscious is still working on the others...

Dave P. - close enough. Those are the super heroes in the Golden Age who A) had their own named books, and B) were not humor strips (as Mutt and Jeff, for example.)
Brian H. - I would have guessed Filmation cartoon character, but Wonder Woman didn't have one (and maybe Plastic Man didn't), and Flash, Green Lantern, and Aquaman did.
