The only thing that comes to mind is that Jim Mooney worked on them (although that's a bit of stretch when it comes to the Hulk). |

Thanks for giving it a go, Dave. That's not it though. Think about the characters themselves.

I mean original original... As in Dr. Strange, Hulk and Sub-Mariner...

What do the comic books Dial H-For-Hero (the original), The Amazing Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk and Superman all have in common? (It is not that they are all about male superheroes.)
********
All the characters' alter egos have the same first sounds for first and last names. Peter Parker, Bruce Banner, Robby Reed, Clark Kent. Stupid Kent had to ruin the double letter pattern, tho.

Wallace, are we incorrect to assume in your second challenge that the Alpha Flight criteria only applies to JB's run?

If at first you don't succeed...
I'm going to steal Brian's suggestion for Wallace's first group of folks and use it as my suggestion for the second: a member with an alliterative name.
Defenders - Stephen Strange Fantastic Four - Reed Richards Inhumans - Black Bolt Original X-Men - Scott Summers Alpha Flight (post Guardian) - Heather Hudson

JB's run is the only one that exists for me.

Close enough, Dave! I was thinking "leader instead of "member."

So it looks like all of the open questions have been answered except for one of Brian Hague's original ones.
Still stuck on that one, so here are a few from me:
#1 Batman, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter and Green Arrow (but NOT Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash and Green Lantern)
#2 Captain America, Green Arrow, Crystal, Valkyrie, Mimic
#3 Hulk, Human Torch, Flash, Batman and, huh, the Mimic again
(Edit - originally Sub-Mariner was in group #3, but I fear his inclusion is more debatable than fairness would dictate, so I replaced him with Batman.)

You guys are so good at this. I feel I'm getting something from the wrong answers as much as the right. Dave, let me know if you want that first question of mine answered. You are definitely rocking this game.
I'm a little iffy on this first one, but I'm going to try it anyway...
Batman, Wildcat, Aquaman, Plastic Man, and Green Arrow.
Along similar lines, we also have...
Dr. Fate, J'onn J'onzz, Firestorm, Star-Spangled Kid, Huntress, and Zatanna.
Also, I'll suggest...
Captain America, Sub-Mariner, Barry Allen, Creeper, and Metamorpho.
I'll keep at it trying to guess Dave's other two questions.
