Dave P. - it does not have anything to do with either World's Finest or DC Comics Presents.
Brian H. - re: the Mad comic book parodies - I LOVE IT! You could have added the Shadow and Captain Marvel as well. Not a criticism... a suggestion.
Also for "Green Arrow, Space Ghost, Swamp Thing, Black Widow, and Night Nurse. (Later added White Tiger, Jimmy Olsen, and Perry White.)" - I'm thinking something about appearing in two separate TV shows and movies, save that so many more qualify (Supergirl and the Flash, for example.) But is that at least knocking on the right door?

I'm afraid not. It is really something so simple and basic you guys are going to punch me in the nose if you ever meet me.
If it helps, Ghost Rider, Black Mamba, and Speed Racer also meet the criteria I'm thinking of.

Very close, sir! It's characters whose names are ten letters long, equally divided with five for the first part and five for the second, something I, Brian Hague, have long had an interest in. :-)
It occurred to me after my last post that I could have also included Human Torch & Darth Vader as well.

For those of you left scratching your head over some of these, here are two really easy ones…
Giganta, Jazz, Meggan, Namorita, Rampage and Savage She-Hulk (The answer is not that they are all women.)
Robert Paine, Ted Kord, Alan Scott, Michael Carter, Ma Hunkel and Wanda Maximoff

They all have colors in their names?

My question remains open, so I will give a big hint.
I'm thinking of portrayals of the characters by these actors:
Dracula - Christopher Lee Hannibal Lecter - Anthony Hopkins John Lennon - Ian Hart James Bond - Sean Connery Robert Kennedy - Steven Culp Charles Manson - Damon Herriman

Wallace - Giganta, Jazz, Meggan, Namorita, Rampage and Savage She-Hulk (The answer is not that they are all women.)
All of them are typically barefooted.

It seems I threw a couple of toughies, so I'll supply the answers and make 'em a little easier next time.
ITEM: Batman and Robin, the Fantastic Four, Wonder Woman, the Ghost Rider, Green Arrow and Speedy, the Champions, Space Ghost, and Superman once.
They're known for getting around in vehicles - often (not always) with their names associated. There was a Supermobile in one storyline... anything to get the kids to buy product!
ITEM: Atom, Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, Superman; Aqualad, Kid Flash, Speedy, Wonder Girl; NOT Batman, Green Arrow, Manhunter from Mars, Snapper Carr, Wonder Woman, Robin; Aquaman was supposed to be part of the first list, but actually was in the second. (Hint: there is a reason that Batman and Robin are not listed together.)
These were teams from the Filmation cartoons for the New Adventures of Superman and the Superman-Aquaman Hour of Adventure and the Batman-Superman hour. It was the Justice League of America and the Teen Titans. Aquaman was in the JLA opening but never appeared with the team (another reason it should have been, IMO, the Superman-Hawkman Hour of Adventure. It's hard to get Aquaman to fit on teams in an underwater venue.)

I'll go for hints instead of a solution for mine. To recap:
I wrote:
#1 Batman, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter and Green Arrow (but NOT Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash and Green Lantern)
#2 Captain America, Green Arrow, Crystal, Valkyrie, Mimic (Miller got this one - it's first new members to join a team.)
#3 Hulk, Human Torch, Flash, Batman and, huh, the Mimic again
(Edit - originally Sub-Mariner was in group #3, but I fear his inclusion is more debatable than fairness would dictate, so I replaced him with Batman.) |
|
|
So all of them are comics related (as in, not cartoons, toys or anything of that nature).
For the first, I honestly wasn't inspired by one of Eric's that I gave the answer to, but I don't expect anyone to believe that. :-)
For the third, re-look at the second and cast a wide net.
