So... why does the “Byrne Victims” facebook page lay claim to more than 10 times as many followers as ByrneRobotics?

I thought fans preferred originals over reprints.

Because it`s Facebook and most people have the app on
their device? You have to actively join this forum, on
Facebook, Byrne Victims can be stumbled across or
suggested by the algorithm.

But this is not atypical. Other sites seem to garner more interested regurgitating content from ByrneRobotics than we get here with brand new material. So many Byrne fans seem not even to know our Forum exists!

Technology, location, and marketing, or lack thereof in each case.

Less rules?  Like not needing to respectful.  (Which should be something everyone does naturally, but tends not to happen.)

Forums are a dying medium. Facebook, sadly, shows no sign of dying off.

Oh, boo hoo! There are rules of decorum here.

And you just argued against your own point.

1. People are already on those platforms.

2. If still applicable, the restriction on the kinds of email addresses that can be used to sign-up, while established with good reasons, limits the number of people allowed to join.

3. Is there a way to just read JB’s posts through the forum? One of the fan sites had a hack for this feature for this forum that he posted a link for so people could just read JB’s posts. IIRC he claimed he got it from a mod. If you go to a creator’s public Twitter page, it is pretty easy to read their tweets. If you want to read comments on the tweet, you click on the tweet. The forum is often the opposite. Using this forum, you can check to see which threads JB started or guess if he will be in a thread.

This! I have an ancient email i`d rather retire, but if
i did, i couldn`t remain here. I know of others who are
no longer here for this reason. A Gmail address isn`t
allowed.

This. Communities that used to rely on forums are now in Facebook Groups, Subreddits, or other forms of Social Media.

I don't think you'll ever know the true amount of "followers" to ByrneRobotics.
I followed this site for a while before I joined.
I wonder, back when "views" were posted, did the numbers only count for members?

****

A TRUE Byrne fan should know about the Forum.... and it should be the FIRST place to go regarding all things related to our host.
