It's a surprisingly small week for me at the LCS.  Only one title is set aside for me, though I might also check out a new Spider-Man mini-series.  Here's what I'm getting:

  • FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #12 - The start of a new story arc.
  • SPIDER-MAN #1 (OF 5) - I know virtually nothing about this one.  I'll check it out when I go down to the store.

What are you getting?

Superman #15- I just picked up every issue of Young Justice last week, so with the Superman books and Legion, I may be reading too much Bendis.

Savage Sword of Conan #9- I may prefer this over Aaron's book now.

Jane Foster Valkyrie #3- Better than it should be IMO.

OUTPOST ZERO #13 - the penultimate issue, as it turns out

BLACK PANTHER AND AGENTS OF WAKANDA #1 - kinda liked the line-up in Avengers, and I've been missing the Wasp lately. Clever of Zub to stack the deck for me the way he did in #1. :-)

HOUSE OF X #5 - can't say this hasn't been interesting, but not in a way that makes me want to buy more X-Men comics when it's over.

SPIDER-MAN #1 - not entirely sure why I got this, but I did

VAMPIRELLA #3 - occasional problem with whim purchases when I'm more interested in digging out old stuff (currently late 80s DC comics that feature the 60s Charlton Action Heroes) - I buy #1, don't get around to reading it, get #2 in case I like #1, don't get around to reading it, get #3 in case I like #1-2...

Also, as part of my mini-Wally Wood kick that I've been on, I ordered the Compleat Sally Forth and the Tower Comics THUNDER Agents spin-offs from the 60s. (I've had the main series for awhile.)

I hate to say it but I like Young Justice and the Superman books. I don't LOVE the Superman books like I did pre-Bendis but they're not a New Avengers/X-Men drop-worthiness for me yet.

I think SUPERMAN has become unreadable. YOUNG JUSTICE...not yet. I'm still too happy just to see the team back together, with victims of The New 52 (Conner Kent and Bart Allen) finally back.

I get a DeMatteis/Giffen vibe with how he's trying to write Young Justice as well so I'm tolerating his little writing quirks better with that than with Superman and Action. The art has really been the savior for both books with me.

I'm not sure how well he's going to handle the Legion, between how they've rebooted some of the characters and his inability to really be able to handle a large cast, I don't think that I'll be on board for long.

Pretty light week for me of late. I wanted the INFERIOR FIVE book by Giffen and Lemire but the LCS didn't have it. Meh.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #9 - Another fun issue. Haven't read much Donnie Cates, just a few books here and there from the local library, but I've liked most of what I've read, particularly Babyteeth.

HOUSE OF X #5 (OF 6) - Not my favorite Hickman issue so far as it was almost entirely an exposition dump and involved clones, but I will say he at least made the way the clones are made fairly interesting.

SAVAGE SWORD OF CONAN #9 - Loved all the zipatone stuff that Patrick Zircher did in this issue.

I'm wondering why I'm even thinking of checking out the book in the first place! I have a writer I don't care for and an artist I'm generally indifferent to doing yet another reboot with some unappealing re-designs. And yet, because it has "Legion of Super-Heroes" on the cover, I'm 90% sure I'll at least be picking up the first one or so when it comes out in the hopes of being pleasantly surprised.

Fan-hood is a sickness sometimes...

I'm actually re-reading a lot of my classic Legion stuff now, Dave, plus I'm buying some of the older stuff I hadn't read, so if Bendis blows it, I'll still have plenty of good stories starring the Legion of Superheroes.
