"Oh, crap" works for Hellboy- it sounds like what he would have picked up from soldiers in the '40s and '50s.

So true. When I'm driving and I get angry, I find myself instinctively pulling out all sorts of non-swear words, like dingbat, wingnut, numpty, maroon, retard (pronounced the Alan way), etc. Sometimes you have to challenge yourself, even when it comes to abusing other motorists. But when I'm feeling too drained to come up with anything creative, the standard fallback is Jesus F Christ.

Koroush, i use retard when driving, along with cretin,
moron and knob head.
Regarding bollocks, if you say something is "the dog`s
bollocks" (Often shortened to "the dog`s") it`s actually
a compliment!

Locally there is a place call Bell End, it always raises
a titter when mentioned on local radio traffic news!

I am originally from Brooklyn, NY and I am a Navy Veteran (sailor).

I've had the pleasure of having someone comment that I "curse like a sailor," to which I responded, "I am a sailor."

••

It speaks to the sexual hangups of our society (thank you, Oliver Cromwell!!) that so many of our cuss words are actually things that would be a compliment in the proper context.

And so many terms we use casually began as slurs against homosexuals.

We are MESSED UP!!

This sign used to get good laugh from us on road trips, well before it became a meme. Yes it's real, it's from a town called Yass about 50KM north of here:
