Batman turned 80 a few months ago (thanks JB) and many cities around the world have celebrated it yesterday, on Batman Day, using bat signals.
So let's talk about Batman! How much do you like the character? Is it more interesting than Superman? Is he the best character in the DC Universe? Have Batman comics become too "dark and gritty" in the last decades? Is Batman: Year One overrated or is it a masterpiece?

What does Batman do in a "John Byrne" topic? Why don't you go out and spread out in a "Dc" comics topic.?

There are topics about Lex Luthor, Jack Kirby, Donald Trump, Loch Ness, abandoned places, the Brexit and the Bible but we can't talk about the most popular superhero in the world on his 80th anniversary, even if JB has created several graphic novels starring that character.
Thanks for the tip, Stephan. You obviously read this before joining this forum.

Wow! Cool Bat Signal!
When it comes to the more "interesting" character, I'll always come back to, it depends on the writer. But I will say Batman, to me, has more avenues for interesting storylines.

I have a complicated relationship with Batman. Comics-wise, he's a character I enjoy but I get burnt out quickly with him*. I always tell the guys at my LCS that I have a pretty decent run of Batman and Detective Comics so I don't feel like I "need" any new stories. If someone like Peter Tomasi is writing Batman, I have time for the book. But modern comics being what they are, I can skip comics about Batman's PTSD, the latest mass murders by his Rogue's Gallery, or the new person who is going to don the cape and the cowl instead of Bruce Wayne.
*Batman The Animated Series, on the other hand, is a cartoon that I can watch all the time!

I just binged watched a good chunk of ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ overnight.
Man, that was good, good stuff! I capped off about 3 hours of viewing with the ‘World’s Finest’ 3 parter from the Superman series. Still smiling from that.
Happy Birthday, Caped Crusader!

To those comic book fans who believe DC and Marvel superheroes should age... How old should Batman be now?

Thanks, JB, I will edit the topic. I assumed Batman day would be placed the same day the character was "created", but it appears it is not.
Of course, many journalists are also assuming that, and that's the most worrying thing.
