The House is not finished. They will keep the investigations alive and keep releasing evidence and testimonies from key witnesses.
Also, Senator Mitt Romney has singlehandedly reminded us of what it means to be an AMERICAN, and to put Country & Constitution over party. He will go down in history.
Trump and the GOP are conducting a Soviet-style disinformation campaign against Americans. Still, a solid 52-53% of the population dislikes Trump. That's NOT likely to change. As long as that 52% votes for the Democratic nominee, certainly Trump can lose in November. EVERYONE needs to vote.
We also need to take some Senate seats.
We all need to be involved and stay involved. Educate. This is WHY I continue to discuss issues here. To engage with others and for the months leading to the election, try to encourage everyone to VOTE against the destruction of our democracy.
This shameful day in history should "fuel our fires" to remove Trump and every GOP up for re-election in November.

Charles, I am never voting for a Republican again, period.
I've voted for Republicans at state and local levels in the past, but I am DONE with the GOP because of this blatant bs. They just conveniently swept things under the rug, making excuses while admitting he did do some of the things he was accused of. Even though some of the things he did could arguably be borderline treason.
(And for those of you who know about him, I've never been a fan of Lamar Alexander. He was garbage as Governor, useless as Secretary of Education, and is a pos Senator. Fortunately, he's not going to run for re-election.)

The Republicans have indeed shown their true colors. It's hardly worth considering them representatives, when they represent no one save themselves.
Of course, a lot of voters are happy to support their dictators, because it requires no action and no intelligence. I have so many friends and acquaintances who said that they're tired of politics and all this fighting and all this interrupting their lives. No, they don't realize that this IS their lives being affected by this "boring stuff." And when there's a call to action... they hang up on that call.
We may be through. Trump doesn't have to impress millions; he has to appease 50+ senators and the Electoral College. When the system itself goes corrupt, we have no recourse. But dammit, we've got to keep trying.
And one other thing. Trump was IMPEACHED. He will NEVER be acquitted of his crimes against the United States. He will NEVER be free of that label. All that vote did was acquit him of being thrown out as president... and that WAS a foregone conclusion.
It's not time for desperate action. Not yet. But I fear that it might be coming...

I hope on January 20, 2021 that the FBI is standing by with an arrest warrant for Trump. Otherwise, I can see him fleeing the country ASAP.

Why would they do that when he will still be President?

I'm worried that AG Barr now has the power to be the sole approver of investigations from this point on? Need more info on this, I sure hope I misunderstood.
The only ability to scare or threaten people Trump has is what all these idiots have given him. He used to be laughed at, as by Obama at that press dinner, but then of course so was the 'little corporal'...
I think Romney's actually more concerned with the God he believes in's personal opinion of him than anything else, others you might say voted their stock portfolio over conscience. Intellectually it can be a choice to believe in a possible God (especially if you grew up around that stuff it will have real seeming resonance) over say political manifestos, the infallibility of humans with science (the machine is only as smart as it's operator), Marvel continuity, or the alternative of Za zen nothingness we come from and return to. A double-edged sword for sure though. One edge wants to fire Big Bird, the other will stand up to a tyrant. It's still fun to think that 'Obamacare' was based in and earlier 'Romneycare'!

Glad to hear that, Brian. Trump and these GOP TRAITORS want to "move on" from this impeachment trial but the smart thing is to keep exposing his crimes and lies right up till November.
We need to make clear voters will NOT forget this sham trial and the GOP Senate's betrayal of their oaths of office.

I will not be surprised if Romney did a bit of gambling when casting his voice. Maybe he knows the almost certain outcome could be excluded from the Republican party. Then taking his chance, he would join the race as an independent, more leaning to Republican values and trying to grab the votes of those Republicans who don't see themselves in Trump anymore/at all and don't have another option at the moment.

He won’t be running in this election, but I’d bet he was eyeing the 2024 election when he voted to remove.
