As an aspiring comic creator/storyteller myself, I have noticed (and please forgive me if I'm in any way incorrect) your use of more of a 'framing' style than an 'overlapping' style when you lay out your panels.   

Is one means of pacing/storytelling different from the other or does it boil down to an artist's preference in laying out a page?
