Hey, I may have missed this, but... Did any of those Sentinels go after Willy?

Damn. I've been so wrapped up in what's going on with our favorite heroes that I completely forgot the Shi'ar subplot. Way to bring it back with a bang!

Wallace, I believe there were several mutants that weren't selected. Undoubtedly Willy is one of them.

I long wondered... first, how could the X-Men defeat the Phoenix?* Oh, there's no doubt that they'd put up their best fight, but... I just never got how Nightcrawler or Wolverine could get in on that fight to any significant effect. Of course, there's more than combat to win a fight... the Fantastic Four dispensed with Galactus two or three times without out-fighting him.

That's where the fun is, certainly; although I don't think Nightcrawler weeping in the forest would be terribly effective. (Sorry.)

Still, I don't think they can get Phoenix to defeat itself again. Again... here comes the fun!

*The X-Men, of course, DIDN'T beat Dark Phoenix either time they faced her.

That's the first thing that came to mind when I saw that last panel. As Barney Stinson would say, Challenge accepted!

In the alternate universe where X-MEN: ELSEWHEN is canon, I'm pretty sure Terry nailed it!

Wow -if that is truly what the phoenix force is like now, I imagine the Shi'ar are going to wish Jean was still the host!

My hope is that that thing stays far away from Earth! I'm not sure how the X-Men could face it and triumph.

Death at the hands of Dark Phoenix again - but when an
entity inhabits a body, is there a clear distinction for
who is responsible for those deaths? In this timeline,
Lilandra and tne Shi'ar see Phoenix as a separate entity -
they let a lobotomized Jean go and did not hold her
responsible.

But how to you prosecute an entity?
