The ham sandwich I had for lunch would be a better President than Trump.
So that argument holds no water for me. If a literal turd on a plate was running against Trump I’d pick the turd.
Stop and frisk was/is seriously ugly and racist policing. The mentality that supports it is the same one that justifies cops unloading their weapon into the backs of unarmed black people. With that mindset essentially ANY black male could be a criminal...so if you’re so inclined go ahead and hop out of your cop car and toss his ass up on a wall to check him for a weapon! As a black male I find the notion distasteful to say the least.
Wanna get ‘tough on crime’? How about we stop running this country like the fucking Hunger Games?

Bloomberg is my choice, as well.
Too many things wrong with Biden, and Sanders just seems like the guy they modeled the `grumpy old man who screams `YOU KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN!' stereotype after. Plus, I don't care for some of his ideas.
Mayor Pete is too young and inexperienced, plus some won't vote for him just because of his sexual orientation. And I'm not a fan of Warren or Klobuchar.

As with most American Presidential races in the last 20 years or so this will all boil down to the lesser of two evils. The democrats will eventually have their candidate and I believe any of the top 10 they have seeking the nomination would be better than the current one. Bloomberg may be a bitter pill to swallow for some, but do you really think he would be worse than the banana republic regime that is eroding the American democracy? Would any of the democrat candidates strong arm the Dept of Justice to make it easy on convicted criminals? America is going to be insane a year from now because it will be four more years of these hypocrites or four years of someone trying to undo damage.

The Democrats seem to be snuggled under blankets of denial and delusion. There is no one among the current contenders who has any hope of defeating Trump. Bloomberg has the only hope of facing Trump on his own ground.

As of a few days ago I had my selection whittled down to three candidates, in no particular order: Warren, Buttigieg and Bloomberg. I should note that in this unusual election cycle, I am putting aside my own personal preferences/favorite issues and instead focusing like a laser beam on WHO CAN WIN.
That said, Warren is almost out, Buttigieg cannot win in November... therefore, I am going to hold my nose, hope for the best and vote for Bloomberg in the primary.

I frankly see no way that Bloomberg beats Trump. All the same portions of the electorate who stayed home last time for Hilary show all signs of staying home this time for him if he's the nominee. Hilary quite literally lost because of poor turnout. Trump got fewer votes in 2016, including in key states taken by themselves, than Romney in 2012. In Wisconsin, for example, the number of filed ballots in which the race for president was left blank was larger than the number of votes by which Trump won the state.
The worst thing the Democrats can do is nominate someone who nobody is particularly excited about. And moderates, by definition, don't tend to get a lot of people excited.

Hilary quite literally lost because of poor turnout. ••• You seem to be suffering from the persistent misapprehension that Trump’s win was based on HOW MANY voters turned out. Not so. It was WHERE they turned out. And it will be the same in November.

It's all about the battleground states. Perhaps a ticket of
Biden from PA and Klobuchar from MN might be able to win
back some of the close-call states in-between:
Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin. Any three of those
four, and ceteris paribus in re the 2016 electoral results,
and Trump loses.

All I can say about Bloomberg is that I don't hate him.
But I don't like how he ran as a Republican for Mayor in 2001 just so he'd have an uncontested primary, how he got himself a third term even though term limits were set at 2 at the time (which conveniently got reset to 2 right after he left), and how he joined the 2020 race at nearly the last minute.

Since Clinton won the popular vote, a 2020 Democratic victory will depend on fewer Republicans voting in the states Trump won in 2016. Since so many—most?—Republicans seem determined to keep him in the Presidential Palace NO MATTER WHAT, a shift away from him seems unlikely. Perhaps Bloomberg could persuade Michelle Obama to be his running mate.
