I've seen a lot of really insensitive jokes about this (some quite good), but I have yet to see someone offer he "put out his hand and touched the face of God, but his god was Crom. Crom, who lives in the Earth."

Absolutely nothing is helped by the video of the incident being a couple of editing tweaks away from being a Wile E Coyote incident. I.e., first, the rocket goes up leaving the parachute behind. Then the camera follows the rocket for a bit then pans over to the parachute fluttering in the breeze then back to the rocket which is now hanging at its apex in a pregnant pause...
It's as if the Universe decided to mock his folly right at the end there.
