Legendary French comic artist Albert Uderzo has passed, aged 92.

Very sad news. I grew up with his work, particularly on Asterix. It was comics art at its finest.

Was a big fan of Asterix at a certain part of my childhood. Uderzo's art was beautiful. 92 is a decent innings, but sad to hear he's gone.

Sad news. I read my first Asterix book in the mid-seventies and Uderzo's art was a huge part of the appeal. I've probably read some of them a dozen times or more.

Altho I was never drawn in by ASTERIX, I certainly appreciated the achievement.

I've never read an issue of ASTERIX, despite English versions being available, but I do appreciate and enjoy his art style.

R.I.P.

As a young French aspiring comic book artist wannabe,
Astérix was one of the many French- Belgian maestros
influences in my drawings and illustrations.
Up to this day in my professional graphic works, one
could spot few things I have learned/taken from the
master.
His art was inspirational to many careers in France and
Europe.
This is a very sad day for the French-Belgian comics
community.

Asterix will always remain a favourite of mine (as was Oompa-pa). Sad indeed to lose a great.

If I ever got a tattoo, it would be of Asterix and Obelix. Sad news.
