With everything going on, just wanted to state that.
But there are times that when I talk to folks, via phone/video/text, I got to find time to laugh or else I'll lose it.
I like to express that this forum gives me an outlet to express myself when I need to let off some steam.
Hang in there people. We'll get through this. 😷✊🏾👍🏾

For too long, I've felt that we're ALL the subject of a big prank... one that isn't funny.
But I've felt as if I'm in an alternate reality/Twilight Zone episode since Trump was elected in November 2016. Honest to God, I felt as if that was the branch off the main "real" history and someone was reading about us...

There's a post that was on Facebook last week that said something along the lines of "April Fools Day is cancelled this year, because no one could make up the sh*t that's going on right now". I concur with that statement.
And I'm still upset that the bacon flavored Scope mouthwash commercial a few years ago was an April Fools Day joke and not legit.

I've never been a big fan of pranks - most of them just seem cruel to me, which is a form of humor I don't appreciate.
Jimmy Kimmel does some of the few exceptions that I like. He does an ongoing segment called "Lie Witness News," a remote segment where his producers ask people on the street what they think of false news stories. The people proceed to pretend that know the subject and fake their way through a bullshit answer. I like that it exposes this kind of bullshitting. And since they do it on Hollywood Blvd, there never seems to be a lack of bullshitters!

I agree that no-one seems to have an appetite for it this year, which is more than understandable.
When I was growing up, the BBC wold sometimes do amusing April's Fool's Day jokes. One of the more memorable ones was a fight breaking out behind Des Lynam in the Grandstand studio.

I just feel that since Brexit, Trump and now the Coronavirus, things are just getting worse and worse.
Trump won't be around forever, but the impact the Coronavirus is going to have is going to shape everything for years. I just despair.
It's hard a time to not think we're all f@cked.
Sorry, for the negative post. Just had to get it out.

I used to do some few feelgood pranks, nothing bad for the "victims", but this year... this year... not in the mood at all.

My 11 yr old daughter pranked me tonight.
We have this routine of brushing our teeth together at night, so she tells me she'll get our toothbrushes ready for us. I thought she was just being nice and didn't think anything of it. She has been helping me with things while I'm recovering from my broken foot. Little did I know, she put a drop of blue food coloring under the toothpaste on my brush. When I started cleaning my teeth, my mouth turned blue!

I've seen plenty of April Fools things posted on Facebook the last few years, most notably fake ads and commercials, plus stuff you'd normally expect from the Onion perpetrated by others.
This year? A couple of minor things.
The game Star Trek Online did something for April Fools this year, but whoever the developer was who came up with it, they're overpaid. More of a waste of players' time than anything, and not funny at all. You have to use an ability that takes 10 minutes to recharge to go do it, and all you get is a Dab emote and a stupid box that eventually explodes.....

I posted on Facebook that i`d got up at 4.30am, done a 5k run, 100 press ups and drank a kale smoothie before going to work. I think it was the kale smoothie that tipped my friends off that i was joking! I think we need a bit of humour and light relief in these stressful and dangerous times. Maybe it`s a British thing?
