I just wish he was connected to some epic.  I guess TWILIGHT comes the closest, but I couldn't finish it.  Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez drawing some 12-part WONDER WOMAN epic written by one of the industry's greats would be almost too good to be true.  (I would also take a HAWKMAN!)

On the other hand, he has a ton of SUPERMAN, BATMAN, DEADMAN, JONAH HEX, and even THE SPIRIT short(ish) stories, team-ups, crossovers, and covers for us to marvel at.

Here's that SPIRIT splash for anyone who missed it.

The Batman vs Hulk is pretty epic, but I’m disappointed that he didn’t do
more comic book work, as well.

That Spirit splash is masterful. JLGL never disappoints.

I have that Legends of the Dark Knight shown above.
Some good eye candy, some inkers match better than others for sure.
Bonus- non slick pages.

JB  - Astonishing artist. Nothing he cannot draw. The best of the best.

Late to the thread, but my sentiment exactly - always dynamic, interesting and 'on-model' :-)

One of the odder things going on at DC during my time there was JLGC producing guides—page after page—as models for those who might license the characters. Beautiful, iconic representations.

Which the people actually working on the books were not required to use!

His version of Superman will always be the definitive version to me.

 'definitive'

That's another totally deserved word for JLGC's work ...

Have to admit that when I first saw the cover to the 1985-ish DC Heroes RPG, I thought it was George Perez's work - wrong ! (OK, I was young and daft ...)

The box and books are full of JLGC art, and all the better for it .. pity that the current DC output doesn't reflect such an optimistic world image.

JB, I know he inked you a couple of times but did you ever ink him?

Phil, I think that particular cover is by George Perez, along with Dick Giordano and Arnie Starr.  I've never seen any of the interior art though.
