Stuff I liked about Wonder Woman by John Byrne:

I liked the opening story arc with Darkseid.

I liked that John Byrne brought a version of the Invisible Jet back into continuity for (I think) the first time since Crisis, but in what was a new & clever way.

I liked the World War II storyline involving the Justice Society.

I liked Byrne's artwork.

I liked the covers by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez, and I wish hehad drawn more of them.

I liked a couple other things, but I don't want to get too specific, because I don't want to spoil them.

There were a few things that I did NOT like, but I won't get into them here.

John Byrne: I started out with idiots on the interweb declaring this would just be "left over She-Hulk stories".

…..

Um, what?!? That makes no sense. Other than the fact that She-Hulk and Wonder Woman are female, they have nothing in common. They're totally different characters. Someone would have to be pretty stupid to think that you would be writing them the same.

Oh, wait... this is the internet. Idiocy abounds. I guess even back in the mid 1990s, when social media was in its infancy, stupidity still found a way to mouth off.

In any case, I thought you did a good job writing both Diana and Hippolyta. I certainly loved how you drew both of them.

Of course. It took no time at all for the minibrains to realize ANYTHING they posted ANYWHERE would become part of the "permanent record". So the Byrne bashers had a field day perpetuating the myths that had grown up around me.

As I sit here, more and more scenes come to mind.

I recall one where "Champion" squeezes Sinestro's protective green force field to grab his ankle, and then (repeatedly?) slams him to the ground.

I loved John Byrne's Wonder Woman! The first time I met
JB, he drew this Wonder Woman for my daughter Melody,
nearly 10 years ago!

I had long stopped reading comicbooks by the time JB did
WONDER WOMAN -- looks like I have something delightful to
read for the first time!

Cut me a little slack at first, Michael. Like I’ve said, it took longer than usual to “find” this book.

Hello, Ted.  I saw these posted on Facebook. They're all beautifully-drawn pages. I was curious who Melody and Molly were. That was very sweet of you to get these for your daughters.

I have lots of Wonder Woman and Supergirl stuff for my
girls, Ben. At least they know who gets what after I
die.

JB also drew Supergirl for Molly.

JB is one of the nicest guys in comics. I have so
many more Good Byrne Stories than there are Bad Byrne
Stories on the whole internet! By the way, John
signed these Wonder Woman trades for my younger
daughter. Might as well share them here too.
