"Did anyone else audibly whispter "wow" when you scrolled down to see that panel with Cyclops and Cap?"

...

I did Eric!

I rather suspect that this would have been a classic "instantly collectible" book in published form. Because this really is. SO MUCH STORY backed up with your stellar art.

Where's the Invisible Girl? What a question THAT is! :D  TANGENT: Mr. Byrne, at this point in her history, can Sue both turn invisible and use her force fields? Or have you already shown it and I forgot it?

I recall that the "mutant sentinels" included Nightcrawler, Havok, Polaris, and Scarlet Witch - so Franklin was not involved there. I am not prophesying quite so much as I wonder how Franklin vs. Phoenix might turn out.

And unless I'm quite mistaken, it looks as if Ben and Logan are setting up a Fastball Special at the top of the page. Ben is stronger than Colossus (or so I presume), so I'd be keen on seeing the result of that. Then again... I'm keen on seeing EVERYTHING in this story!

Mr. Byrne, I apologize; I knew she was dealing with Gyrich. But "Where is the Invisible Girl?" seems like a funny question. A la "I've never seen the Invisible Girl before!"

Gorgeous shading of the Thing in panel one.

Love how the Thing looks in that first panel. It's more than just the rough texture of his skin that you communicate -- there's a real sense of depth to the drawing.

I love the character pairings here on page 4.

We’ve seen Cap and Cyclops before, and while that match up never gets old, it was cool to see Wolverine and Thing, and the Storms (Johnny and Ororo) with Iron Man. I can’t recall seeing a pairing of these characters in what would’ve been 1981 comics, and I love seeing how you’ve matched them all up.

Just brilliant stuff!

I guess I'm weird, I really dug seeing the bottom of The Thing's foot!

I'd rather see Jazz's, but to each his/her own.

On a serious note... Add me to the list of those who enjoy seeing Cap and Cyclops sharing leadership responsibilities.

Love the most recent page.  The camera angle on the Thing with his foot in the air.  I don't remember anyone else ever doing a shot like that before.  Nicely done JB.

A beautifully rendered full-body shot of Storm in action and then, to top it off, the image of Cap and Cyclops.  If ever this gets published, that shot will be up there, with the classic "Wolverine in the sewers shot", as an iconic X-Men image.

Wolverine calling Thing "Lumpy" is perfection.

Can't thank you enough for this, JB!
