Their "plan" is an interesting one, because their goals are not necessarily bad things--their methods, however, make it impossible to be okay with what they intend to do.

I agree that
INVISO TEXT (Click or highlight to reveal):
the ISA *cannot* remember their identities, but it will be hard unless Brainwave makes that happen somehow
... but I have the feeling that
INVISO TEXT (Click or highlight to reveal):
Sir Justin will die achieving vindication against Dragon King; he'll go out a hero but he might not make it out
.

We'll know soon-- STARGIRL's season finale will be on DCUniverse on Monday.

Knowing the creator is Geoff Johns, I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of major characters die and would be less surprised if they went out in as gory a manner as the CW censors would allow.  GJ's love of cheap deaths and on-panel torture porn was what drove me away from DC Comics altogether, so his attachment to this show was a huge disincentive to check it out.  I've gotten over all of that and really enjoy it, but there's no denying I'm waiting for Johns to reveal his kink before it's all over.

Johns has either gotten over his gore fetish or he no longer has editors encouraging him to have one.

His (re)introduction of a live Ted Kord suggests to me that he regrets killing off Kord in the comic that kicked off the various mini-series that led to INFINITE CRISIS, which itself was no great story.

His SHAZAM! comic has been very wholesome though I still don't care for it.

James Robinson's death/gore fetish will probably never go away. I'm very glad that JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRY FOR JUSTICE is no longer canonical. One of the worst series ever. I don't get what happened to him after he finished STARMAN.

Johns is a good writer, but I got tired of SHAZAM when his Billy was (initially) a real a**h**e and juvenile delinquent, then the series had delay after delay (and the story wasn't even that great, either).

I don't doubt that his *other* producers are ensuring that STARGIRL fits on the same shelf as the other Berlanti-verse shows. We'll know for sure tomorrow.

Johns has stated that the intent with STARGIRL is to make a show that families can watch together in contrast to the other DC Universe shows, which are more adult. The only Johns fetish I expect to see is his need to give every DC character a legacy replacement.

Looking forward to the finale tonight!

I sure like all of my family entertainment to feature a father being brutally beaten before his assailant is disabled when the son punctures them with a cordless power drill.

You're like my dad who wouldn't let me watch INDIANA JONES when I was a kid.

I dunno if you've seen them, but the other Berlanti shows feature some serious violence from time to time. I don't know if I'd qualify them as "family entertainment" but they are airing in the prime family viewing hours regardless.

I really enjoyed the finale. There was one choice that struck me as weird. Not good or bad, just weird. Be back on Tuesday to discuss with the CW folk.

Liked it a lot! A couple of great bits at the end to tease Season 2, lots of heartfelt emotion, some real surprises... all around, a great episode.
