I’m absolutely loving this series.
How did people not get what’s going on in Vol 3? Seems straight forward to
me.
& the art! Really loving the art

I preferred the format of the first 2 GENERATIONS series, but there was nothing wrong or confusing with #3. And I think it is weird when people get so hung up on changes in art. Do they really do nothing different ever in their jobs?

GENERATIONS was (obviously) innovative in its storytelling approach and I ENJOYED it... along with the different versions of the characters!
Time to bring these books out to read again!

I don’t know what was particularly “innovative” about GENERATIONS. Like most stories, each chapter took place after the one before it. The jumps were longer than typical, but still chronological.

I think an innovation was in the gaps. They didn't leave out anything I needed, but they left all kinds of room for more stories that I wanted.
I don't recall any other story told this way intentionally-- but it reminded me of first getting into comics and being hooked while still only having some of the back-issues here-and-there.

What I have found innovative was that we had three series that seamlessly
intertwined with each other.
Clues were given, with answers either given later, or just plain left to the
reader (Batman’s first wife - which is bleeding obvious but everyone wants
to assume she’s a super hero (but which?))
The Parademons journey through Generations 3, as we witnessed it
effectively backwards to what it really was, was an interesting thing, as I
was initially in a state of ‘is this really what is happening, or am I
misinterpreting what it looks like’?
Piecing things together from the different periods was fun & I’m looking
forward to a chronological read shortly.
Can’t believe it’s taken me 20 years to get to this. What a prat.

Mark’s analogy to his early years of reading comics is spot on.
I had the Marvel weeklies, but the colour American comics would only be
found once a year @ the seaside (why only the seaside???!).
So that sporadic, time has moved on, reading experience is exactly what it
was like.

***** That's what I felt way too... plus showing the characters aging and being replaced by their progeny was a nice structure to tell this story of Superman & Batman.
The romance between Bruce Wayne Jr. and Kara Kent was particularly emotional... their part in the story made the series for me.

I wonder how much more emotional BJ and Kara’s arc might have been if, when her ghost visited him on his deathbed somebody at DC had not decided to knock out the black lines on their figures in white, turning their faces into unreadable blobs.
