Sad to hear of Joe Sinnott's passing... he was one of the greats in the industry; the benchmark for comic book inkers.... he left behind quite an impressive legacy.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Joe Staton posted this picture over on Facebook. A person asked about the photo, "Is that John Byrne?" To which Staton replied, Not only that, but he brought the champagne."

Joe Sinnott was such a mainstay of my childhood that it's hard to overemphasize his importance.  You knew when you read his name in the credits (hell, just recognized his work from the cover) that you were in good hands.  What a professional.  What a legacy of amazing work that will live long after his passing.  To have worked doing what he loved until he was 91?  An inspiration.

Larger version of that picture, with Joe Staton, Weezie Simonson and Carl Potts included.

Joe’S obituary. I know he is remembered by most of us as a comic book artist, but he was a very good man and should be remembered for more. I’m sure those that knew him consider themselves lucky.

Sad to hear. A monumental and influential giant in comics. I broke the news to my dad yesterday, he was pretty pensive about it.
