Well, another week and some new stuff at the LCS.  I'll be going into mine tomorrow to pick up the month of July and whatever came in this week.  Here's what I'll be getting this week to add to everything else:
  • Batman 96 - Interesting storyline.  I've picked up the back issues to follow the entire storyline.
  • Marvels Spider-Man Black Cat Strikes #4 - Even though this is out of continuity, it's a really good story for a limited series
  • Black Cat #12 - I'm still behind on this title.

After a look at the new releases, only Walt`s Ragnarok.
Nothing else appeals.

Visited my LCS for real yesterday for first time since March (had been getting new comics mailed to me since then). I'm enjoying a lot more non-Marvel books at the moment that I have for a long time. Here was what I got from this week though:

Guardians of the Galaxy 5
Fantastic Four 22
Fire Power 2
Empyre 4
Undiscovered Country 7
Black Cat 12
Captain America 21
Usagi Yojimbo 11

Biggest week for me in a while!

Firepower #2- This is a fun book. Hopefully Kirkman won't go too dark with it because I don't feel that would fit with Samnee's art.

G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #273- The book that never disappoints me.

Ragnarok Breaking of Helheim #6- Wrapping up this arc.

Batman The Adventures Continue #3- Glad DC decided to do this because this is my favorite version of Batman.

Justice League #49 & #50- My LCS missed the order for 49 a few weeks ago so I wound up with both issues today.

Star Wars #5- I probably need to re-read some issues to get caught up.

SEX CRIMINALS #30 - the conclusion (more or less); one tie in special and epilogue issue to go
GI JOE A REAL AMERICAN HERO #273
RAGNAROK BREAKING OF HELHEIM #6
USAGI YOJIMBO #11 - "Part 1 of 43?" Now THAT's ambitious. :-)
CAPTAIN AMERICA #21
EMPYRE #4
FANTASTIC FOUR #22
LORDS OF EMPYRE CELESTIAL MESSIAH #1
MONEY SHOT #7

Don't know if Eric will poke around here looking for LSH opinions, but just in case - I'm a pretty big Legion fan. I've got every Legion series from Adventure #300 (plus the Archive reprints to cover the early days and Silver Age guest appearances) all the way to the last issue of the New 52 series. I have my favorites (Adventure run and Levitz) and not so favorites (Bierbaums), but found something to enjoy in all of it.

I couldn't make it past the first issue of the Bendis run. Just too much Bendis and not enough Legion.

I dropped the Bendis Legion with issue #2. Ironically, my fandom started with 5 Years Later but I found I prefer everything prior to that. I tried the Waid/Kitson reboot and didn't care for it but I liked it better than the current reboot. I didn't like the redesigns and the characters were all interchangeable with Bendis-Speak. I'm a Shooter/Levitz guy.

I was quite ambivalent about the Bendis Legion reboot, but it's starting to grow on me.  I found that reading a bunch of the issues in the same sitting actually helps.  There's still a ways to go, but it has improved.  I would like to see some additional character development and longer interchanges with some of the members, however.

Nothing new for me this week. I am joining a couple friends in a one issue a day reread of "Paper Girls," which is one of my favorite comics of recent years.

I second that emotion, Shawn. I fear that’s the way FIRE POWER is
headed though.

RAGNAROK: BREAKING OF HELHEIM #6 is filled with larger than life
art and story.

USAGI YOJIMBO #11 continues the book’s reign as the most
consistently satisfying title in comics...

I ALMOST picked up FIRE POWER 1 and 2 yesterday bass on
Samnee's work. In the end, I put them back. Wrong move?

Brian,
I have a sort of love/hate relationship with Kirkman. Fire Power has been fun so far but Invincible was the same way until it became more and more graphically violent. I hope he doesn't go that route but the book has the potential to get dark.
