Speaking of worse, how many of you (ALL, I hope!) can spot the ridiculous coloring goof on this cover, built out of random figures drawn by your truly, but with no consultation with me?

Yup. How many people looked at that on its way to the printer?

Actually, I withdraw the question. That would require people actually doing their jobs.

Its strange that of all the images you've drawn for the company, they decided to do a random collage instead.

Yeah, and other than a cameo, Iron Man's not a part of any stories in the book.

Also, some sort of shadow effect between Iron Man's face and Iron Fist's leg.  Were they trying for some kind of "artsy" layering or (shadow) "halo" effect between the characters?  If so, why no shadow on Spider-Man's foot or Iron Man's hand?

And what's behind Spidey's knee?

Iron Man and Iron Fist are reaching to hold each other's hands, and Human
Torch is flying right up into Spider-Man's ass. I don't remember these scenes
in JB's work, but I'm really looking forward to seeing the story this cover is
based on!

Wait a second--where's the webbing under Spidey's right arm?!  I've seen him drawn WITH the webbing and I've seen him drawn WITHOUT the webbing--this is the first time I've seen him drawn with HALF the webbing!  (And I doubt it JB's fault.  I'd like to see the original images.)

••

That Spider-Man looks like it's probably from MARVEL TEAM-UP, tho I guess there are several likely sources. The inks don't look like Terry, to my eye, so probably not from X-MEN.

Which makes Iron Man look like a cardboard cutout.

This is all an example of what happens when technology becomes more important than talent. Far too many examples of "Hey, look! We can do THIS now!"

Worst part of this whole thing, of course, is how many readers would have no clue that I did not draw this as is. Another example in support of "His old stuff was better"--tho, ironically, this IS "old stuff".
