I can't think of any Roger Stern "ticks" that other famous writers have. His work doesn't scream "look at me!" . It's just good. I can't really explain it better than that.

Roger is my all-time favorite Marvel writer. I especially enjoyed his Avengers run.

Vinny makes a valid point. Roger Stern's storytelling style is to tell enjoyable stories with great characterization that you can relate to. No winks or nods in his stories to show the reader what a clever writer he is. In other words, he wouldn't be able to write for Marvel today.

Vinny's right. Roger Stern is a very "egoless" writer. The only writer over the last 25 years who rivals him in this regard is Greg Rucka.
