Brian Floyd: "...you just know the conservative nutjobs will argue that's a reason he's too mentally incapable to be President."
Eh, let 'em whine. He IS the President-Elect, and their complaints won't change that.

Trump's absence can only help with that. No one in a position of prominence, authority, and influence on either side has done more than Trump to promote the ideas that disagreement equals treason and your fellow Americans are the enemy. He's not responsible for the divide between Americans, but he has exploited it and figuratively poured gasoline on the fires of division.

The Secretary of State has come out & Sid ‘There will be a smooth transition to a second Trump term’.
This is not going to end well. I can see it being decided by a bullet from the White House security in January.

That's posturing from Pompeo. He wants his brownie points from daddy Trump, is all.

Posturing or not Matt, all this is stoking a toxic viewpoint in those that voted for Trump. It undermines the country’s standing internationally as well - how can America speak with authority when it acts as bad, if not worse than many of the countries it seeks to transform & hold back from their excesses?

Sort of like Trump's "jokes" about a third term or delaying COVID tests, not only is Pompeo not funny and the "joke" itself grossly inappropriate from a person in his position, most importantly, he is Not Fucking Joking.

The sooner the states certify who won what and get the electoral votes in, the better.

Here's Mary Trump's discussion of what is going on in her uncle's mind at present. The key takeways: He's having meltdowns and he's never going to concede.
Here's Deleware Senator Chris Coons talking about how Republican senators are privately acknowledging that Biden is the winner, but telling him they cannot publicly admit it at present.
I guess if you look at it from a political standpoint, there's nothing to be gained for a Republican by acknowledging the reality of the election right now. It opens them up to charges of not being sufficiently loyal to Trump in some future election battle. So they are willing to go along with the cynical undermining of half the country's faith in our electoral system, for their own personal gain. Sad but not surprising.
