"Certainly November's elections did not hand any side a mandate for sweeping ideological change."

I actually agree with this somewhat, but I'm not accepting that from a man that never used these words throughout the 4 years of a president that lost the popular vote.

McConnell didn't really grow a spine as much as he finally realized that Little Bo Creep is of no use to him any more.

Now lets see how he responds to the upcoming Impeachment.

Nice of Mitch to verbalize that the monster he helped to create that tried to kill us all is, indeed, "bad". Now I want to see him not only fully punish Trump, but also help expel any other senators that conspired with him. Then he can work across the aisle to help pass reasonable internet reform and a new Fairness Doctrine. Until then, f*** Mitch McConnell!

If Trump still had a Twitter account, Mitch would not have made those
remarks.

McConnell is a crafty, conniving ,Machiavellian-like schemer: A true, slimy politician. He didn't grow a pair, or a spine, he put out his finger to see which way the wind is blowing and acted accordingly. He is unadulterated evil, but he is not idiot.

Lindsay Graham is, on the other hand, just as slimy, but weaselly, and without any principle, so he constantly does what he must to stay, in his mind, relevant (he admitted to that in an interview, before, actually). The difference bewteen Graham and McConnell is McConnell has principles -- They suck, but he has them -- while Graham does not.

Graham truly is like The Toad, a grovelling piece of sh*t. McConnell is more like Lex Luthor, and he always has some scheme going on.

Don't trust him for one minute.

That said, even though I know he is serving his own interests and not that of the country, but I do think what he said needed to be said by him.

I think his sudden hostility toward Trump is the threat of the "Patriot Party" that Trump is talking about forming.  A meaningful split in the GOP could prevent them from ever getting the White House and therefore his precious judges again.  Convicting him in the Senate could prevent Trump from ever holding public office again, removing a major figurehead for any split movement.
