Can't agree more with the time period desire. That being said...

T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents
Classic Earth-2 JSA
The Shadow

I really appreciate those who "play by the rules" when responding. Thanks for giving this question some thought, and limiting your answers to a maximum of three.

I'd go with...

CLANDESTINE
DOOM PATROL (JB era)
PLASTIC MAN (Ramona Fradon era)

I'm with Jim Muir: finish publishing MIRACLEMAN already!

Also: Paul Chadwick's CONCRETE and EIGHTBALL by Daniel Clowes.

Tales to Astonish (Henry Pym/Sub-Mariner)
Strange Tales (Adam Warlock)
Creatures on the Loose (Man-Wolf)

Oops!  My apologies--somehow, I missed that.  Paring my list down, my top three would be:

BLUE BEETLE (Ted Kord)--I would love to see a good, solid take on this character, really taking off from Ditko's few glorious issues.

CHALLENGERS OF THE UNKNOWN--There's a way to do this series just right--Kirby did it, Byrne could do it, I think even Gerry Conway had the right take on it in the short 70's revival.  I really liked the 1977 novel by Ron Goulart!  But for over 40 years we've only had strange, alternative takes on the group.

DEFENDERS--Whether the HULK/NAMOR/DR. STRANGE epic team by somebody like John Byrne or the quirky version of the Gerber & Kraft eras, this was once my favorite comic and could be again.

Like many have said, more time period for me also:

NOVA- Richard Rider (original era)

FRANKENSTEIN MONSTER- Ploog/Mayerik . From where it left off.

X-MEN: THE HIDDEN YEARS- Well, this one would break my time period caveat but it's JB so...

They're supposedly working on it...

Anyway, my list:
All-Star Squadron (preferably by Roy Thomas or someone similarly continuity minded)
X-Men Forever (Claremont)
Legion of Super-Heroes (Preferably the original group picking up from where Levitz left off, but whatever works. Just not by Bendis again.)

Dave P. - Absolutely NO criticism intended, and I like all three of your choices. But I note that they require no association to the existing universes' continuity, being in the past, an alternate reality, and the future. That's neat!

I agree wholeheartedly with the time period thing; I can still enjoy comics but miss the unadulterated joy of being a ten year old reader, learning more about those amazing characters with every issue.

My choices would be:

1) Alpha Flight (keep hoping someone else can recapture the magic)
2) Ka-Zar (and Zabu) A good, old fashioned, jungle-based title
3) Amazing Fantasy (there has to be room for a sci-fi/horror/crime anthology series?)

I think Man Wolf's story has been told pretty fully, but a bunch of issues between Creatures #37 and Marvel Premiere #45 would be extremely cool.

I'd like to see the Vixen story from the '70s in a color one-shot from DC. But like the '50s Atlas era comics that wouldn't be new... new Rog 2000 maybe? Walt Simonson returning to do more Metal Men, and this time writing?
