I'm not sure if this would be good topic to discuss in the Forum.
If not, please lock it down.
Have any Forum members received the Covid-19 vaccination?
If so, did you experience any side-effects?
I received the first dosage of the 2 required Pfizer vaccines. The only side-effect that I experienced was a slight pain in my arm hours after the vaccine was administered.
The pain lasted for about a day.
I'm scheduled to get the second shot in a few weeks, but I hear that the side-effects of receiving it could be a little harsh.
I'm just glad that this process is going forward and I can do my part to help us get back to some sort of normalcy.
Being home for a little over a year totally sucks!!!!!

I received the Pfizer shots back in January - February. A little soreness in the arm both times.
Half of my staff here also received the shots. Pretty much the same story, a little soreness in the receiving arm was the only reported side effect.
Now if I can get the other half to get the shot. Sigh.

I've been trying for more than two weeks to set up an appointment, but the online system has stuck me in some kind of loop, sending me repeatedly thru the same forms, then back to the start without any success.

I'm as yet ineligible in New York State, but my wife got the Moderna back in January/February. First shot was relatively smooth, though she developed a comically large welt at the shot site about a week after. For the 48-hour period after the second shot, she got all the fun flu-like symptoms (which made it convenient that she got the second shot on a Friday).

People my age are months away from getting a shot here, but in England my parents both got the AstraZeneca shot in February. They reported zero side effects.

I took my mother-in-law to get her shot at Walgreens. It was fairly easy to set up. Her arm was sore for a day or so.

My 19 year old got the J&J shot on Sunday morning. Got a low grade fever (100.3) that evening and felt pretty gross for most of Monday but was feeling much better by last night.

I am fully vaccinated. Moderna, 2 shots. After the first, my arm was a little sore. I was warned that the second shot had some nasty after-effects, but I experienced nothing. My wife, though, after her second was bed-ridden for a whole day but then totally fine.
My son-in-law is entering medical school this August, and he works in a hospital now. He sees fully vaccinated patients who have contracted the virus and are suffering symptoms. Not life-threatening but also not at all pleasant. Be wise! Stay safe!

I had some misgivings about the vaccine until my doctor answered some questions and provided more information than I had considered. The state of Indiana had recently dropped the age to 50, so I was eligible. Most of the local stories from the news or individuals were stating that the earliest available appointments were near the end of this month. That same day Walgreens sent an email about newly received vaccines and had appointments available the next day.
Got my shot last Friday and felt no discomfort at all. No queasiness, no fever, etc. A friend in another state got one on Saturday and had the opposite reaction. I received the Pfizer vaccine, no idea what he received. I go back in four weeks.

JB,
I won't pretend to have any insight into your daily schedule. ;-)
Not sure how Connecticut has their online Covid portal setup. But here in Maryland, myself and many others that I know have been lucky to be able to schedule appointments during the early morning (5-6:00AM ET) or late hours (11:00PM - midnight ET).
If your up during those hours or suffering from insomnia, give it a try at that time.

My wife and I have both received the Pfizer vaccine. Other than a little site soreness, we had no real issues. Various friends and co-workers of both of have had the Moderna and all had experienced some sort of side effect the day after their second dose. From nausea to debilitating headache to excruciating muscle soreness. Made me glad we got the Pfizer.
