I appreciate the efforts put in to casting Benjamin J., but that's sort of the least casting, isn't it? He'd be CGI (except for scenes when he transforms back to Ben... and we don't NEED those. As for the actor's non-appearance out of makeup/CGI, I'm sure an extra $50k [for example] would salve his wounded ego.) The voice is the part, and I think everybody has a generally similar idea of how the Thing sounds. Frankly, I thought Michael Chiklis nailed it... and even as Ben (when he explains he used to have beautiful hair, added in).

For the other three, I'd be perfectly happy if three newcomers did the rest of the team. No insult to Sue's character, but an adequately beautiful blonde woman who is an adequate actress could do it. I think Sue should be strong and confident usually, but not overbearing or acting as a leader; that's Reed's job. There have to be two dozen blondes who could pull this off. In the day, I might have cast Barbara Eden; but again, a strong and subtle actress could pull it off.

Johnny is a teenage rebel (revel?) who isn't terribly rebellious. Again... their name is Legion, for they are many. And for my taste, I'm hoping for the Kirby/Byrne Human Torch, so the face isn't really important (ref: my comments on the Thing.)

Reed Richards is the hard one to cast, but obviously it can be done. Shoot, I think he's too old, but I'll wager Clooney could have pulled it off. If I'm going back in the day again, I would have loved Van Williams (the Green Hornet) as Reed.

I think equal attention needs to be paid to casting Dr. Doom - in the SECOND movie. The first movie needs to introduce the FF themselves. Dr. Doom is the big follow up.

That's one old fart's opinions. Whaddaya think?

Get Feige, Desposito, and Alonso on the casting, along with a subject expert - hi, Mr. Byrne! I think the only way it wouldn't work is if the actors have such poor chemistry that they barely acknowledge each other... and of course, that's part of casting.

There is an actor called Logan Shroyer, from the TV show
'This is us', who would make a fine Johnny, and at age 22
he is in the right age range. I will try and post a photo
later, but he shows up on a Google search.

I agree with Eric in regards to Ben, unlike Mark
Ruffalo's Hulk who spends as much, if not more time as
Bruce Banner, Ben is the Thing 24/7 and therefore apart
from the origin Ben should always be rocky, in which case
the voice is the most important aspect. As much as I
enjoyed the Chiklis version (and he did a great job), the
CGI version from Fan4stic was visually better (or as a
comparison even the very Thing-like Korg from the Thor
films). Similarly apart from flashbacks, the looks of
the actor playing Dr Doom are immaterial as his face
SHOULD always be covered, as long as the physical actor
is an appropriate height and size, the most important
thing SHOULD be the voice (ala Darth Vader, Prowse was
suitably physically imposing, but James Earl Jones's
voice was what made Vader a memorable menace)

My dream movie planning would be a Dr strange movie that adapts the
Dr Doom/Dr Strange Graphic novel by Stern and Mignola as an intro to Dr Doom (also recaps his origin) and sets him up as a foe for the entire Marvel cinematic universe (that replaces Thanos for the next phase).
