Prompted by this cover:

Is Reed stretchy ALL of the time, or just when he decides to stretch? It makes sense that his bones must stretch, so his teeth must ALSO stretch. But I can't think of a time where his teeth were actually shown stretching. Would his hair stretch?

Okay, SCIENCE!

Despite all apparent evidence to the contrary, there is no muscle in the human body that does anything but contract. Reed’s stretching power is therefore the exact opposite of what his muscles really want to do.

Meanwhile, his bones, naturally, neither stretch nor contract.

Translation, those cosmic rays did a real number on him.

Bottom line, yes, I think his teeth would stretch, tho I am not sure if he could make them do it!

Hair, on the other hand, is dead. At least what we see of it. So I don’t think it would stretch.

I can see the WHAT IF issue now - WHAT IF Mr Fantastic was incredibly vain (giving himself Brad Pitt's features and maybe a Hollywood smile too!

Flashback to those great JB FF issues where Reed and Sue assumed civilian identities as Mr & Mrs Benjamin (and Reed altered his facial features!).

One of the oddest manifestations of Reed’s power must surely be the scene in FF13, where a disgruntled Ben pushes him into a large test tube, which actually causes his head to shrink!

Although that cover does its job in that I want to read that issue, I know recent BS from both companies give my chances of trying it at a 1/100 chance that I will.

Surprisingly, I’ve been enjoying the latest FF run. Sure, I’m years behind in
continuity and there’s been a LOT of it, but it’s the first time since Walt’s run
that it’s been a really fun book for me.

Bet you won’t be surprised to learn I received letters on those issues complaining that I had made Franklin’s name “Franklin Benjamin Benjamin”!

sigh

Going to echo what Brian said. The current run FEELS like the FF, which....doesn't really happen as often as it should.

I must say, it is heartening to hear good feedback on here about current work being done. Gives me hope :)

That cover is gloriously horrible!

You'd have to assume Reed's teeth stretched on those occasional times when he went very flat -- for example, in FF #284 when he flowed out of the cracks in a tube container.

Right. He’s been shown to squeeze, ooze even, through very small spaces. Have to assume everything stretches.
