First off, i think establishing a reputation of sorts as a creative
circle.
I don't know about you guys but my day at the old studio where
not only productive but informative. My old studio mates Alex
MAleev and Kevin Kobasic taught me alot in regards to their
approach to art and for that matter comicbook illustration and i
think abit of me rubbed off on them as well. Alex for one is more
dynamic and has embraced the "american" sensibities ,Kevin is
now a damn good commercial artist.
Basically if ever "we" as a group or as individuals found an
outlet and needed the input of other "members" that helping
hand will always bne there.
I guess, mutual respect is what i'm getting at. after all APPLE
started in a garage.
I would hate to think that the amazing illustration that have
been posted are merely filler for this or anyother site.
This is STUDIO 108 a collective of artists and writers, step 1
achived,
Baby steps.

If i were to go to the website as a visiting websurfer i'd like to know what was Studio 108 and who is in it. what it's about. So obviously we are a collective of mutual respecting creators artist and writers alike. We met and formed on J.B.'s forum because of our own experiences we know that together it is possible to be better than the sum of our parts. We all know the hardships that can go along with being in the artist industry in it's many forms. So we are support for each other as well as a creative outlet to bounce idea's off of each other.Beyond the support and creative structure that would exist. I believe that Studio 108 is the beginning of what can be a great network. Any way that's my 3 cents worth.

I'm interested in joining up, I have a few characters bouncing arround in
my head, though I don't know which one I want to submit at the moment.

And I probably won't be don't much on this until late next week, but
count me in.

What might be the best way to go about that?

"Cross-fertilisation" the sharing of creative ideas and technique. One of the strongest arguements for Studios.

Okay, since we are to come into this with something new...purpose built so to speak. I've been giving some thought to a direction. I felt something unashamedly Superhero would be the best way to go. Fun, exciting, full of energy and great characters.

I'd say "establish" the characters first before trying to tie them all into a mutual "Universe" etc.

Anyway that could all be very much running before walking.

I began jotting ideas down for a new character and story. No design as yet.

I'd have to agree with that.  While the idea of a 'universe' may seem neat it could potentially be constraining to possible stories.

Well gentlemen of Studio 108 I have the beginnings of an idea perhaps the rest of you would like to collaborate on fleshing it out. My idea is for a sci fi epic. The feel of it that i'm going for is elements  first contact with alien life, farscape and fifties atomic movies. The name of the story is Red Colony Six .i'll give the rest of the info if anyone is interested

The idea is that various races of aliens had one time set up colonies on Mars. Some aliens are banevolent while others not so much. They had an uneasy allience sort of their version of the united nations But they discover that the planet has become to inhospitable. so they need to look else places ripe on the menu is earth. Some of the warlike races want to invader and dominate. The more friendly want to coexist. They get to earth first and propose working in conjunction with earth to offer them advance tech to protect themselves. They also offer a space vesel that earth can co- command and set up crew. in exchange the nice aliens want to set up a base on the moon. they also offer earth the chance to make the moon a strategic miltary site. The U.N. agrees an ex astronaunt turned test pilot is picked to train to go onto the ship. The aliens on the moon are the Red Colony six  .There are other colonies Red 1 ,2 , 3 , etc. this first contact is the catalyst for superheros and monsters etc entering the world. before then the world was a normal world.

I think it would work best if we start the story from a point in the
future where the above mentioned has transpired, when then
deconstruct. I like the idea of the reader being in on the
premise(or so they think) and then turning their world upside
down.

Thats a good idea Anthony. I was thinking that it would be a good idea to have the story be set in a non linear timeline. Instead of going forward go back

Nice.  :)  I do have a bit of story worked out for Cameron along with some other characters as well.  Hey Anthony, do you mind if I try my hand at inking that?
