I really thought this was a fun, great issue. The art is getting better and better from issue to issue, and it was a a very entertaining read. Gail certainly did do a fine job writing Dr. Pyscho. I also enjoyed how JB handled the scenes on the plane, and the shot with Superman spotting all the people on buildings that were about to jump.

I am hoping the next issue will be a knockdown drag out fight between Superman and Black Adam. I love JB's battle scenes.

I like the cover.  I hate when covers are done by someone other than the actual interior artist but it was ok.  I was surprised it was penciled by Jurgens....didn't recognize his style at all....I think Nowlan pulled a "Nelson" on his pencils.

Great issue overall...I really like this Dr. Psycho guy....this is my introduction to him.

Nowlan does that to every artist he inks. He's very technically facile but he tends to drown the penciller. (In this case it didn't bother me, as Dan Jurgens has a rather generic-superhero-artist style anyway.)

Big envy...!

I asked for that line to be deleted

A quick process question for John or Gail, would it be usual for an artist to make such a request and for the editor to meet it ?  I'd understand the writer asking for a change in his or her script but the artist ?

I understand that, in this instance, John is the writer of Doom Patrol which muddies the waters a little but I'm just asking in general.

Huh. I just chalked it up to one of the "continuity glitches" that's
occurring throughout the DC line as a result of the upcoming Infinite
Crisis. Glad to see that the editor is leaving the book soon.

McM, it's the editor's job to be a continuity cop. He should have caught that line even without JB reminding him.

You couldn't say the Berganza is too busy for these little details because he certainly has the time to decide which of Byrne's panels are too sub-par for his most excellent line of Superman products.

Sounds like this editor is one of the industry boneheads Gail was referring to in the other thread.

Ouch!  I wouldn't go putting those words into Gail's mouth Brian!

I'm not putting words into anyone's mouth, John. I simply stated this behavior resembles remarks Gail described. That is you putting words in my mouth.
