I'm really not trying to stir sh!t here - there's been 4 issues out now with Nelson as inker (3.5 technically....), and I'm genuinely curious about where folks here stand on this. I figured a poll would be the best way to gauge this.

Sounds like Action needs a new editor.

Well, that will be taken care of soon at least.... But after seeing #830, now I'm not so sure the art changes are only due to editorial. Larry Strucker's inked pages, while maybe a bit too light for me in some cases, did not seem to be changing anything that JB drew.

I hope that won't be set in stone. I know you were told that they are looking for 12-issue creative team arcs now, but if sales of Action Comics remain at sellout levels, perhaps there's a glimmer of hope that they will reconsider?
If not, it's a shame. I haven't seen any bad stories about incoming editor Matt Idelson, who you worked with briefly on Hulk I believe.

John are you and Gail staying of Action Comics for awhile, or can't ya say? I really hope it's not a short run.

If we could just see an issue of Nelsons style without the re-
drawing, I think I'd like it, but the re-drawing just ruins it for me.
The #1 reason I'm buying the book is because John Byrne is
drawing it, so....
(Gail Simone's writing is coming in at a very close 2nd, mind
you).

<But after seeing #830, now I'm not so sure the art changes are only due to editorial.>
The inking changes aren't really due to editorial. Nelson has a more
heavy handed style, not as much as Kevin Nowlan, but he does more
re-drawing when he inks. Look at other jobs Nelson has inked and you'll
see the same thing. It's not just how he's inking JB.
