When John was teasing Doom Patrol as "Title Withheld", he posted a sample page with key figures whited out that featured a pilot and an aircraft. On the page was the initials glc, leading some, including apparently the column author, to think it was the Green Lantern Corps, as Hal was (and again is) a test pilot.

So did I. :-)

If all fairness to Rich (and without excusing his rumour spreading!) there is nothing anti-byrne in his post, quite the opposite in fact.

"it's been confirmed to me by a DC source that the gorgeous looking "Blood Of The Demon" will also not continue after issue 18. However, given Byrne's deserved reputation for production, expect a number of new projects to be announced as a result"

Rich is a John Byrne fan. He's also a gossip-spreading blight on the whole comicbook industry.

Say - I thought Jockey said he was never coming back here - so how was he able to see the pencil/ink comparisons?

He said he got them from posts by Andrew at IMWAN.

True. But he still posted that JB had not publicly criticized the re-draws, plus the mention that he and GS would be leaving the title during the editorial shift. Seems like one would have to actually actually come here in order to glean that information. But we all know that's impossible, since Rumor Jockey is such an honest guy, right?

Even so, couldn't he have seen them anyway? You don't have
to be logged in to read this board, do you?

I don't think so. You just have to be logged on to post as far as I know.

And you have a point Vincent. One that I agree with. I was simply posting what he said was one of his "sources".

Yeah, I see that now. I didn't consider that Andrew had posted it to more than one site.

"And although sales haven't been booming, all issues of "Action Comics" so far have sold out at distributor and retail level"

Err.....how can sales "boom" when the issues keep selling out???

This sort of "announcement", akin to a National Enquirer style of reporting, serves no purpose.  It will chill sales on the title.

Why would anyone at DC "leak" this sort of thing?  Sounds to me like someone at DC has an axe to grind with Byrne.  If so, that person ought to be fired.  Where I work you can't release that sort of information without getting a good spanking.

It's sad to see two books of such high quality not find a large enough audience in today's world.  I am sick of this happening.
