Gone now.  This is probably not productive.

Much to the dismay of my employer, I will be watching this page for the remainder of the day.

You're right, Todd. It's probably not. But it is quite strange that, ever since JB and a few of our members tried to change things over there ( and I'm not pretending to know what changes anyone was trying to make) it suddenly seems to have started taking direct quotes from the DC ( we hate all things John Byrne) Boards and leaving out all impartiality in the process. The whole article now reeks of conjecture and opinions and is just plain mean-spirited. Up till now, I could see where disavowing Wikipedia based on his entry to be a little over the top. Now, after seeing this vindictive attitude displayed by them, I no longer have any respect for that site at all.

Snapdragon, how about fixing it so trolls can't post their opinions in your "encyclopedia"? IS that clear enough?

 QUOTE:
Well, you could have started by reading the rules of the board before you signed up to make your generous offers to help 'clear' JB's name. But hey, the rules only apply to the non-self-absorbed.

And perhaps people here should have read Wikipedia's rules before blanking the article and going straight to the top without bothering with any of Wikipedia's rules regarding article editing and dispute resolution, no?

Quite frankly, I was in a hurry because I wanted to try to head off this dispute before it got heated.  I made a mistake, one which I am attempting to correct.

So just to be clear....it's OK to skirt the rules when you need to protect your ability to slander (and lets not kid ourselves, this is slander, pure and simple), but it's not OK to skirt the rules when that slander needs to be removed?

I think the real issue here is that some folks like masturbating to porn, and some folks like masturbating by spreading a bunch of bullshit on the internet. You should get the hell off this site.
