I'm sure that my life would have taken an entirely
different path if not for my exposure to West's
Batman in syndication as a kid in the early 1980s.

I picture the candles on his birthday cake looking

Adam West/Batman was one of my first heroes, when I was a kid. Little did I know he was just an actor appearing on a show that was already cancelled by the time I first saw it.

He (and Batman '66) reopened a door that closed with the end of the Adventures of Superman, and despite my gamut of feelings on that Batman, I am thankful that he did.
