Character actor Roy Stuart, who was best known as Corporal Chuck Boyle on the sixties TV show Gomer Pyle USMC, passed away on Christmas day.

I've always been a fan of the show, and Stuart was a teriffic straight man for Frank Sutton's manic Sgt. Carter.

It's a tough job making someone else look funny, but he did it well. I enjoyed the episodes with him as corporal more than when Duke Slater came back to be corporal (nothing against Ronnie Schell, who I think was the best of Gomer's pals on the show.) Rest In Peace.
