It was a joke, Matt. You know...."a joke"? You were "taking offense" on someone else's behalf while chastising Roger for doing the same. I thought it was funny. Lighten up, there, sherrif! You'll be alright. :)

Gladiator is based on Mon-El

Smasher is based on UItra Boy

Superboy has no pastiche on the Imperial Guard.

Mon-El is supposed to be mightier than Superboy, maybe.

Gladiator could probably knock out Superman with one punch, if he got him off-guard, which is unlikely.

Wonder Man is too slow to get Superman....

and about that old "how can anyone/thing so big move so fast" bit.... in the sixties that was a new bit!

I always thought that Juggernaut was a big goober.   I don't care how strong he was in a lot of stories... his original opponents were the five original X-Men.  If he can't murder those five wieners then I'm surprised he fared well against the Hulk or Thor!

In fact I thought most stories where Juggy gave Thor a good fight were kinda poor.  Thor is a War God.  He's a warrior being with thousands of years of combat experience against giants, sorcerers, and dudes with Asgardian KirbyTech yet Juggernaut gives him much pause?  Juggy has about five years experience with his powers and at most he has calm-Hulk-strength, mad-Hulk durability plus a a magic force field.  Thor has a magic hammer deux ex machina that still has powers that writers haven't thought of yet.

I still like how in DC vs Marvel Superman just knocked Juggernaut on his butt and that was that.

Then in Ron Marz's sequel they had Superman look like crap; apparently Superman needed Spider-Man's help to beat Venom.

Wow!  Does John really need you looking over his shoulder all the time?  Take offense on other people's behalf much, Roger?

**********

I don't get this. The rules state you're not supposed to address something until the person its for has responded. But you did that here, Matt. Someone please explain. I'm not understanding this.

Look, this Matt/Jb/Roger/George thing should stay just that. I don't see why so many of you guys feel the need to jump in an aggravate a rather minor situation.

On the topic of Juggernaut, Thor should hand him his metal ass in about a minute or two. Superman knocking him flat was great.

Sure Dan, I'm ready to be offended by anything you say!

Oooh, well, yeah...uh...

Its covered in metal, isn't it? So since it'd be nice and compacted by Thor smashing him into a cube, so it might as well be metal...uh...

I got nothin'.

Simple explanation, Jim- the rules pretty much get made up as certain
people see fit.

And yes, it was a snippy initial response. Just for a change.

That shot featuring the punch is one of my favorite panels of all time. I loved that Hulk run.

Juggernaut is unstoppable. Unless Superman or Thor have telepathic powers they lose. In addition to the scene in DC vs Marvel. It annoyed me to see Wonder Woman somehow knock Juggernaut out in Unlimited Access. Its not like Stan was vaugue about this or anything. Unless they have telepathic powers, the Juggernaut can not be stopped.

I don't know if this is the place ot ask it, but I don't think it's worth its own thread - why is Matt called the sheriff? I've seen it here in there and always wondered what the reason is? Is that like an in-joke I missed somewhere? I know I just signed up but I've always read the board.
