I know he's been working on Abadazad with J.M. DeMatteis. It's a series of children's books (book three due this year) which is part illustrated book and part comic; it shifts back and forth between the formats in an interesting way. I have the first two but haven't read them yet, as I was waiting for the third book to have what I believed would be the full trilogy, but now I just saw that a fourth volume is scheduled for 2008 so maybe I should just start reading it soon. I can tell you this much: It does look very nice!

and forth between human and Man-Thing forms -- but, unfortunately, the
Man-Thing is mindless, so it doesn't know that!)

That could make a great Defenders story. Dr. Strange needs Man-Thing's help for some reason and recruits him. They save the day. Then, Dr. Strange reverts Man-Thing to normal and returns him to Florida. Later, there's some other crisis that only Man-Thing can stop and Ted is forced to choose between letting something horrible happen or turning back into the mindless Man-Thing!

Someone asked about Mike Ploog upthread so... nowadays he's illustrating a lot of JM DeMatteis' work (such as Abadazad and Stardust Kid), as well as doing some Hollywood work (I believe).

Mike Ploog has a great name. I love sound effect names. I once took an acting class in which we had to do an exercise where we used our names as weapons. The winner was a guy named Ptak!

I know I'm late getting on this thread, but I just wanted to thank Greg for explaining when Spider-Man's chest symbol changed. I asked that question almost 10 years ago on Usenet (the older symbol really jumped out at me in "Untold Tales of Spider-Man") and nobody answered, and it's been nagging at me ever since. So I appreciate the posting and the helpful illustrations!
