Just finished reading JB's entire run on the series again over the last few
days and I must say it was a wonderful experience.
Some things that really stood out for me on this outing:
1. The "you're such a good friend" speech that Diana gave Mike. I've heard
just that same speech too many times in my life and it really hits home.
2. The 'softer' look of some of the profile and head shots of Diana. Gives
her a classic, almost 40's look. (I don't know if I'm describing what I see
correctly, but there's just something there.).
3. The way the entire 3 year run feels like one cohesive story when you're
done.
4. The way JB 'gets' writing kids, or teenagers at lease. Cassie seemed like
a real girl of that age.
5. The way JB gave credit to those who came before in the chronicles of
Wonder Woman(and the Demon and New Gods) every chance he got. A
little thing like that makes me want to go seek out the original source
material.
There were a ton of other moments during this reread that made me just
pause and smile, too many to mention. All I can say is thanks once again
JB for a job well done!
Anyone else like to share fond memories of this run?

I love the Hippolyta stuff. I love that JB amped up Diana to god/demi-god power levels. I liked how Diana was often shown battle worn and "dirty". Cassie was agreat addition. I liked it a great deal overall. I wasn't a fan of the Donna part.

I remember being eleven years old and, having really enjoyed the death of Superman storyline, picking up the VR(?) Doomsday issues off of a rack at the local grocery store and really enjoying them. Superman transplanting the tree to the Kent farm really stuck with me as a nice piece of characterization. Good stuff.

JB drew a kick-ass Doomsday!
Diana played as a bonafide super-hero! And a really tough one, too.
Hippolyta as the Golden Age Wonder Woman. Alongside the JSA.
A Sugar & Spike walk-on!!
It was a really fun run. And all too brief.

I loved to "meet" Cave Carson and his crew! The three animal-headed aliens are also favorites of mine. Very cool origin for the Invisible Plane. And Dark Angel. Let´s not forget her!

It was fun to see JB use captions with those little hands and pointing fingers.
Were those originally typical from all DC titles or particular to the Infantino Flash?

JB, a question about number one on my list above. Have you been on the
receiving end of a few of those yourself? Or do all women just say the exact
same thing during that speech? It was almost verbatim to what I've heard
before.

This was just a great adventure, on one of my all time favorite super-
heroines.
Mr. Byrne just nailed it in respects that Wonder Woman had really lost her
comic book appeal, and he put her in fun adventures and gave her a
voice.
Favorite tidbits:
1. The virtual reality bad guys, Sinestro! Doomsday! Seening Mr. Byrne
draw these guys was just SO COOL, especially since Sinestro hadn't been
seen in any form for awhile.
2. The larger "W" breast plate. I hated how some artist just didn't get how
it should be drawn, and drew it so dainty.
3. The larger wrist cuffs. Updated the look, and really butched it up a
little.
4. Wonder Girl...the adventure with Decay is the stuff that comic books
should be. Fun fun fun. Too bad Wonder Girl these days is such a stretch
from where she started.
5. Wonder Woman's larger than life pony tail when she raids that bar.
6. Gateway City. Fictionalized cities always work better in the DCU (to me)
and it was great for her to get her own city, for whatever little length of
time happened anyway.
I could come up with tons more, but those really stick out to me. I was
glad to be there while it was happening!
