This piece demonstrates why I don't think Batman "died" at the end of the Dead End fan film. He finds a way to win. He always does.

Didn't think Batman was in much danger there. It was Alien vs Predator, and I think he'd figure out pretty fast they'd lose interest in him if he stayed out of the way. He'd probably devote his energies to keeping the battle contained.

I love that Generations, but I meant more like a classic solo Batman mini.
But, I suppose if it's meant to be...

I was thinking something along those lines. I only saw the film for the first time last week after I asked an artist who used to draw Batman what he thought of Batman Begins and he asked if I had seen Dead End. I was impressed, especially by the look of the costume, and recommended that several of my friends watch it. The responses I kept hearing all seemed to be assuming that the point was "The death of Batman" The general assumption was that Batman couldn't physically survive a fight with 4 Predators and an Alien. For some reason, all thoughts of the other aspects of Batman seemed to have temporarily flown out of their heads.

JB, is there any X-Men member that could defeat Batman in a fight, in your opinion?

Heads up, publishers! As of now, the best moments of your characters are
apocryphal!

Outstanding job Mr. Byrne! This is easily one of the best commission pieces I have ever seen.

That's a great piece, JB! You're the man to do that crossover should it ever
happen, but I must join with those who want to see you on a Batman book.

Absolutely outstanding - as everyone has said.  I love the blacks in it - amazing work, JB.  I also enjoyed the discussion over the potential battle between these two heroes.  That really drives home the point how great the art is - everyone's talking about it.

Vinny is a lucky guy.  Congrats!

JB - you HAVE to do a regular assignment soon.  I love checking the daily commisions as well as the next person, but they also serve as teases for what we could be seeing on a larger scale.  My how dumb the big two are for not snapping you up yesterday.

Thanks for all the congrats so far, guys! Its great knowing that a bunch of you feel that I'll be getting one of his best commissions to date (and yes, of course I feel the same way). Anyway, thanks to the transparent PNG file JB uploaded, I cleaned it up a bit and made it my desktop background:

I'm curious about seeing it colored, but honestly, I think this stands up just fine as-is in B&W.
