Of course, having the piece in my posession now (swoon), I've been playing out the scenario more in my head. I was thinking Batman would be able to take advantage of Wolverine's heightened senses (perhaps an ultra-high-frequency sonic blast), but I'd prefer to base this fight on the premise that they have no prior knowledge of each other's abilities. So unlike a fight with, say, Daredevil, I don't see Batman figuring out Wolverine's heightened senses on his own. The healing factor, however, is another story. So, JB's postulation still works for me. One of the appealing things about Batman is that he can take an opponent's strengths and turn it around to his advantage. I couldn't figure out how he could do it here, but JB just provided a way. This is why he's a comic book writer, and I'm not!
In fact, I could safely assume that Batman did just that in this piece - so, thanks, JB! I like it even more now!

I just thought of something else that would -- non-intuitively -- give Batman an advantage: Wolverine's "healing factor". Knowing Logan has this, Batman would also know he could let loose, not hold back. He could practically kill Wolverine, in order to take him down.
Hmm. That seems to imply to me that you're taking the "shared universe" approach to this crossover of sorts. Batman isn't just meeting Wolverine for the first time and going into the situation cold. If he was, it wouldn't be obvious at first that he had an Adamantium skeleton or a healing factor. Batman would have to land a few blows first.

Still, I think Batman would figure it out pretty quickly.

That would be a very interesting moment.
I'd love to see you pull that off! *** Click back to page one of this thread ;-)

Depends. If you were fighting the X-Men, wouldn't you be expecting him to pop in? And if you were Batman, wouldn't that be all the edge you'd need? ***
Of course.
Man, you have a strong grasp of this stuff. If only there were some way to share your insights with other pros-- a place where people could pose questions and ask you for your thoughts. If only there were some device that could link us all together...
If I were writing Wolverine, I'd be over here every day asking oblique questions to "double check" that I had the best possible stories I was capable of. Same with the FF or Captain America. I think I'd do that no matter what title I was writing.

Matthew, for commission information, contact JB's art dealer, Jim Warden. Here is a link to his site.

In one of the other treads John Byrne talked about how he wanted to end his Last Galactus story with a time traveling Dr. Doom becoming the next Galactus.
just curious how much it would cost me to commision it.

Slight tweak -- Doom = Galactus was what I planned for FF -THE END when I was going to be doing that project. I figured I could kill several birds with a single stone.
