Wooo-Hoooo!
This was a scene I've imagined since I was about 15 years old. I (very crudely) drew a Batman vs. Wolverine comic (well half of it - I never finished something I started artwise, which is why I knew I wasn't cut out to be a pro!). This was the summer of '89 - right after the Batman movie came out, and just as JB started his Wolverine arc with Archie Goodwin.
Anyway, I wanted to make this fun for JB - so I let him decide who should win. So not only did he draw this commission for me, but he also "wrote" it, too!
And I _knew_ not to start adding that both of them should be a bit battle-weary - I figured that JB would be smart enough to figure that out himself. My only requests were that Batman be inked black (since I always liked how it looked that way), and Wolverine be in the brown costume (for obvious reasons).
I am one happy camper, and this is only my first commission! Hmmm.......

Great job, JB. Absolutely love it. And the second one was very funny.
And congrats Aki on being part of a JB commission.

WOW!
[allow for a couple of minutes of stunned silence]
...and here I was expecting another Champions (or at least Champions related piece)... and then seeing Batman and thinking, "Oh... well looks interesting and good" and starting to scroll down and then... WHAM! as if somebody hit me over the head the full impact of the image hit me. I mean, WOW, that Batman alone would've been a fine image indeed, but the added impact of the clearly beaten Wolverine... leaves me oscillating between stunned and rambling (as you may notice).
THANKS FOR SHARING! It made my day! (and yes, I'd love to see the story this piece suggests... by JB, of course)

'Love it. The best part is that Batman looks like The Batman...his expression is determined, but not that of some leering, bloodthirsty hero gone rogue.

Oh yeah, what William said about JB's use of Aki's li'l cartoon on the second "version" goes for me to. Not really better by any means, but funnier any day of the week, that's for sure.

Awesome. Thing is, I'd expect Wolverine to get up a few moments after that scene.

Whoah. Yeah, this is cool.
I had my money on Wolverine too, but I love the idea that Batman wins because he keeps his head. That's great.
Bruce is going to feel it in the morning though.
Not much of a blood and battered fan, but this comission is awesome.

I can't wait to see this (the 2nd version) in the Coloring JB’s black & white art section!

Nobody can draw blood and battered better than JB (some can do it as good, I'll agree, but better... fah!), which he definitely proved already as Wound-Wrangler on ElfQuest in the fight between Cutter and Rayek.
