Just curious which character does everyone think Neal Adams draws best?
--------
I can't think of Adams and Batman separately.

Yeah, Steve. Neal Adams is THE Batman artist, no question in my mind.
Adams is an awesome talent. I just wish he was a bit more prolific. Other than Steranko, is there another legend with such a small body of work?
But it just makes me appreciate JB even more - not only is he a great artist, but his output has been staggering during the last 30+ years. Just take a look at the Checklist here on the JBF and it's amazing how much work Mr. Byrne has given us - and continues to give us.

I would also go with Batman (like my avatar).

Batman is probably the character I think he does best. Only Jim Aparo comes close in my estimation.
With other characters -- I like Swan better on Superman, Gil Kane better on Green Lantern, Mike Grell better on Green Arrow, John Buscema better on Conan, Kubert better on Tarzan, and JB or Cockrum better on X-men, Colan more on Dracula, Garcia Lopez better on Deadman and Perez better on Avengers. But Adams is special in that he is easily among the top 5 artists on all of the above. Even when he didn't do a lot of issues.

Deadman. Like the Tarzan you posted, he always drew Boston Brand with incredibly thick wrists, which you would expect of a trapeze artist. That sort of attention to small (and somewhat important) detail is also something I like about JB's work. Coupled with the "average Joe and Jane" approach of the application of Deadman's powers, and it's right in Adams' wheelhouse.

Much as i LOVE Neal Adams' Deadman (and just about every other character
he's drawn!), José Luis García-López IS my best pick at drawing Deadman
the best. (It's pretty close tho'.)
i'll always regard Batman and Green Lantern as Adams at his best!

This is a bit of a trick question. Like any good artist, Neal has never been one to rest on his laurels -- never one to stagnate. So the Neal Adams of today is very different, artistically, from the Neal Adams who drew Deadman, and even the Neal Adams who drew Batman back when I first discovered his work. So, with that in mind, I would say Neal's Batman is definitive, based on how he drew the character when I first saw it.

Arc - If you asked someone much younger they might say Frank Miller or Jim Lee when you ask them about Batman.
To us of course it's probably Adams, Infantino and Aparo.
Elder folks would say Robinson and Sprang.
it all depends on when you got introduced to the character of course.
