I liked the guy that inked his Hulk run? We got alot of Byrne stuff reprinted all out of chronology here. I think I was reading it along with his X-Men, I thought it was even better than UXM.

I'd have loved to see Paul Ryan inking more of JB's stuff, myself. I think he only did the final issues of JB's West Coast Avengers, but their styles meshed really well. ******************** I completely disagree with this. I don't think they meshed at all.

As for Byrne & Sinnott, I would have rather had Joe ink John's pencils on FF over anyone besides JB himself. JB is my favorite JB inker, but Sinnott inking anybody on FF makes a lot of sense to me.
I loved his work on Avengers and in the Defenders, but Sinnott should have been inking FF. Unless, JB was inking himself and Joe was inking the Thing. Wish that were the case.

I've just been addicted to Byrne/Austin since Uncanny # 111.

Ted - You're right on about Byrne/Sinnott. I love looking back at the issue of X-Men Hidden Years where Palmer inked the X-Men and Sinnott inked the FF! Joe Sinnott has such incredible linework.

Sinnott inking anybody on FF makes a lot of sense to me ++++ I love Joe's work, but I think he stayed far too long on the book and the book was essentially a Sinnott book no matter who pencilled. The book needed a change and I am glad he didn't stick around when JB took over.

I think Sinnott tended to bury a lot of the pencillers he inked.... even JB, yet it worked on FF because it WAS Joe's book for years. Very few books managed the consistancy that FF had. I think the reason JB worked without Joe was that JB's characterizations and storytelling were so strong. A best of both worlds...

Remember that on JB's first FF run he was not doing full pencils, just layouts (or was it breakdowns, I forget). That's the reason Sinnott's style came through so strongly. It would have interesting to see what Sinnott would have looked like over Byrne pencils.

Sinnott did ink over an issue or two JB's own FF run towards the tail end of it, one of which was an Annual. I assume that was over full pencils just like the rest of his full-time run. Even so Sinnott's inks overpowered a bit too much for my tastes.
